There is little doubt that Donald Trump is the boss. His statements and mannerisms exude command. But now he is taking it to another level. He correctly feels that he was played by some people in his last administration. Clearly certain government officials were not on board with the Trump plan in 2017-2021.
When the NYPD contract with ShotSpotter was announced in 2015, I scoffed. A technology that uses an array of very sensitive microphones to triangulate the noise of gunfire seemed like something that would not work well and would not have much of a payoff if it did.

So now comes word that Viktor Bout, the so-called “Merchant of Death” Russian arms dealer, is back to selling arms to America’s enemies after being traded by the Biden administration to Putin for WNBA player Brittney Griner. Who’da thunk it?
Another day — another resignation of a top government official here in NYC. At this rate, we’re going to be down to the Mayor and the dog-catcher.

So looks like we’re in protest season again. Expect more, coming to a campus near you.
But what do the protestors really want? Do they actually expect Israel will disappear, “from the river to the sea”?
No matter what your opinion on the Eric Adams criminal case, the most significant aspect of the situation lies with the Department of Justice itself. That’s saying a lot. The mayor of the country’s biggest city has never been arrested before last week. As we see top aides like David Banks, Philip Banks, and Edward Caban resigning, it seems like Adams position as Mayor is becoming less tenable. But the bigger story is our lack of faith in the federal justice system.
