There has been a pronounced loss of trust in American institutions over the past several years. So many people have lost faith in the political class in this country. They don’t trust the institutions that are the foundation of our government such as the DOJ. They have no confidence that the media is telling them the truth.
Glenn Greenwald laid this out on Tuesday in a very succinct way on Rumble. He explained that this loss of trust and anger at the government is the reason for Donald Trump’s popularity. No doubt that he is correct.
There is no bigger story to exemplify the very good reason not to trust our government and media institutions than the Hunter Biden circus. The Hunter Biden story seems to embroil every institution that Americans have reported having serious trust issues with.
Miranda Divine recently posted that the Department of Justice and FBI knew that the Hunter Biden laptop was real as early as December 2019. Well before the story was restricted in 2020. (Devine should, and never will, get a Pulitzer for her reporting on the President’s family). They watched silently as this story was maligned as “Russian disinformation” and government officials were publicly decrying its authenticity. They also found traces of cocaine on the gun that Hunter “lost” (and was fortunately recovered before someone got hurt) and text messages from Hunter to his drug dealer two days after he (allegedly illegally) purchased the gun.
Here are just some of the people or agencies who have lied or misled the American people about Hunter Biden’s alleged criminal antics:
· Christopher Wray – Has claimed numerous times as recently as March of 2023 that he could not be sure that the Hunter Biden laptop is legitimately his.· Merrick Garland – He refused to give David Weiss the support and tools he needed to properly prosecute the wayward First Son. No doubt this was intentional. He didn’t make Weiss a special counsel until the public got wind of the problems with the case. · The President of the United States, the Honorable Joseph Robinette Biden III – Has blamed Trump for the existence of the laptop citing, Russian collusion. He has said that he never spoke to his son or had anything to do with his business dealings. He proclaimed that his son has done nothing wrong despite clear evidence to the contrary. He has also alleged that his son is the smartest person he knows despite a series of disastrously bad decisions. All lies, obvious lies that no unbiased person would believe. And he continues to lie. The White House has claimed that Hunter will not get a pardon. If you believe that, you should throw on the dunce cap and sit in the corner. · The American Intelligence Community – 51 big names in US Intelligence, including four former CIA directors, stated before the 2020 election that the Biden laptop had all the markings of a Russian disinformation campaign. We are sure about 0% percent of them actually believed that after seeing the contents. · Big Tech – A release of internal emails from Twitter and Facebook show that they were willing participants in the cover-up of the Hunter Biden laptop story in a successful attempt to influence the 2020 election. Polls have shown that if this story was confirmed and shared, Trump would have won.· The FBI – No one at this point should give any credibility to this agency, for a variety of reasons. Its shenanigans around Hunter are only one of them. The FBI had contacted Twitter and Facebook days before the laptop story broke, telling them that a big story is coming out and it is an attempt at election interference by the Russians. This resulted in the shutting down of the NY Post’s Twitter page and restricting the story. The FBI continued to meet weekly with Twitter to restrict Americans’ freedom of speech. The FBI has also slow-walked and obfuscated their investigation into Hunter Biden, allowing crimes to run over their statute of limitations. We don’t know what they really have on Biden and we never will. · The Department of Justice – in addition to having two seemingly minor criminal cases against former President Trump, they did their best to cover up the case against Hunter Biden. The DOJ kept Hunter’s attorneys in the loop on several investigative steps and tipped them off to an upcoming interview. They flat our refused to issue necessary warrants. And don’t forget that they prevented two IRS whistleblowers from fully investigating their case on Hunter. Most egregious was the DOJ’s attempt to secure a sweetheart plea deal for Hunter. Judge Noreika saw the deal for the scam it was and rejected it. We recently learned that Hunter’s discarded gun and case had cocaine on it – which DOJ knew at the time – but they offered the plea anyway. · The Media – Perhaps our most corrupt institution. The “mainstream” media simply cannot be trusted. They went out of their way to cover for government institutions and for the Bidens, refusing to even report stories and when given the opportunity, asking no truly penetrative questions. Who needs to worry about Russian disinformation campaigns when we have the American media’s disinformation campaign to provide “facts.” We can guarantee that if Hunter Biden gets convicted and disbarred, MSNBC is waiting with a million-dollar job offer for him.
These institutions and individuals are completely unapologetic about their obvious lies regarding Hunter Biden.
The Hunter fiasco is just a microcosm of their proven untrustworthiness. There are many other topics where their deceit is obvious. We could point to these other stories, but Hunter manages to pull them all together to accomplish the same mission, to deceive the American people and to influence the election to the Office of President.
There is no greater betrayal of trust and no more obvious reason for reform. People are willing to put up with four more years of Donald Trump and his copious and disturbing baggage, in the hopes that he can drain the swamp and reform our broken system. He should start with a list that looks like the above.
Enough Already!!
With these bike crews. A few weeks ago, while driving up the West Side Highway in NYC I was pleasantly surprised by a lack of heavy traffic. The pleasant feeling of not hitting the breaks every few feet was rudely interrupted by a common occurrence. A group of about twenty motorcyclists blocking the highway and popping wheelies and racing each other.
This type of experience seems to have become a way of life in many parts of this country. And I think I am not alone is stating, “enough of this crap”. Weekly we see headlines about out-of-control motorcycle and bike crews terrorizing pedestrians and other drivers. Earlier this year 90210 actor Ian Ziering got into a conflict with a group and was attacked by numerous riders.
Most cities have multiple serious accidents involving pedestrians and ebike or motorcycle riders weekly. These riders, either alone or in packs, can be seen flaunting both the rules of the road and rules of civility. Not only are they dangerous, but to see a license plate or insurance on a motorcycle is a rare occurrence.
This used to be a very difficult problem for the police to solve. Every spring the NYPD would roll out a plan to combat this dangerous trend. Quite frankly, it was an uphill battle. It was nearly impossible to pursue these riders without causing a dangerous condition. God forbid the rider was injured, the cops would be maligned by the media. The NYPD would try to grab these bikes as the fueled up, confiscate them while parked, set up checkpoints, attempt to identify bike crews on social media, etc. A lot of work with very little impact on the problem. When riders were arrested, there was little or no consequence meted out by the judicial system.
Now there is no chance for the cops. Motorcycles still require registrations and insurance, but the e-bikes are a different story. In 2020 New York State (like many jurisdictions around the country) allowed local governments to make their own regulations regarding these types of vehicles. The New York City Council passed a bill allowing most electric scooters to be ridden on our streets. No license, insurance, or registration needed. Even the inept DeBlasio knew this was a bad idea and opposed it. But here we are, more than three years later with the law still in effect.
I think we have had enough of this dangerous game. Its time for a legal crackdown on this problem. If stricter laws are passed and legitimate sanctions are enforced by the judicial system, we may be able to restore some order to our streets and highways. Unfortunately, like most criminal justice problems, there will be no fix by the politicians who caused the problem. People are getting hurt and are scared, but still they do nothing.
